　　外观为白色粉末或鳞片状结晶体，无味无臭，不溶于水。此外，二十八烷醇对酸、碱、还原剂稳定，且对光、热稳定，不易吸潮。

　　二十八烷醇属于高级脂肪醇，是简单的饱和直链醇，由疏水烷基和亲水羟基组成，化学反应主要发生在羟基上，可发生酯化、卤化、硫醇化、脱水羟化及脱水成醚等反应。
